Claire Bagot
French oboist Claire Bagot began her musical training with Sebastien Giot. After graduating with honors from the Conservatoire de Strasbourg at the age of 18, she moved to Paris to study with Jean-Claude Jaboulay, before being accepted into the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique deParis. She spent the next five years learning from Jacques Tys, David Walter and Frederic Tardy until she graduated with honors with a Master degree. Ms. Bagot also spent one year as an exchange student at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin with Dominik Wollenweber.
A passionate orchestral player, she first gained experience with the French National Youth Orchestra (OFJ), the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra (GMJO) and the Verbier Festival Orchestra, touring all over the world and collaborating with conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Jonathan Nott, Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Esa-Pekka Salonen. She was then quickly invited to play with orchestras in France including the Orchestre National de France, the Paris Opera, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Orchestre National de Toulouse.
For the whole 2016-2017 season she held the position of co-principal oboe of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jaap Van Zweden. This experience opened her up the door to the international and she is now seen playing for the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (UK), the Malaysian Philharmonic orchestra, the Philharmonia Zürich or the Esbjerg Ensemble (Denmark) among others.
In September 2019, she won the title of Principal Oboe of the Orchestre National de Lille.
